Questions
Common questions
What tempo should a beginner use?
Between 60 and 80 BPM for most first pieces. Find the fastest speed at which you make no mistakes at all, then take ten off it.
What does tap tempo do?
You tap a button in the rhythm you want and it calculates the matching BPM. Useful when you know how fast something should feel but not what number that is.
Should I always practise with a metronome?
No. Use it to establish a passage and to check yourself, then switch it off and see whether the steadiness holds.
