Build a habit you can see
Your minutes, streaks and best scores, kept privately in this browser rather than on our servers. Time in the practice room and the beginner lesson is counted automatically. There is nothing to start here.

Three scores, not one: right notes, in time, and reading. The best you have managed on each piece.
On a real piano with no screen nearby? Time it here and it counts with everything else. The practice room needs none of this: it times itself.

Time is added to today only when you stop and save, so leaving the tab open by accident will not inflate it.

Questions
About this page
Do I need to start a timer?
No. The practice room and the beginner lesson count your minutes automatically, and they land here on their own. The manual timer above exists only for practice away from the app, on a real piano with no screen in front of you.
How much should I practise a day?
Fifteen to twenty minutes a day will take a beginner further than two hours at the weekend. The reason is that most of what you are building is muscle memory and pattern recognition, and both consolidate between sessions rather than during them.
Where is my data stored?
In your own browser, using local storage on this device. It is never sent to a server, we cannot see it, and it does not follow you to another computer. Clearing your browser data clears it, and the button above clears it deliberately.
Does the streak break if I miss a day?
Yes, it resets to one on your next session. There is no reward for a long streak here beyond seeing it, and no penalty for losing one beyond starting again. It is a mirror, not a game.
