Bass clef notes: lines and spaces
In the bass clef the notes on the five lines are G, B, D, F and A counting from the bottom up. The notes in the four spaces are A, C, E and G. The bass clef is also called the F clef because its two dots sit either side of the fourth line up, which is the note F.

How do I remember the bass clef lines?
Good Boys Deserve Football Always gives G, B, D, F, A for the lines, and All Cows Eat Grass gives A, C, E, G for the spaces. As with the treble clef, a phrase you make up yourself will stick better, because the effort of inventing it is what fixes it in memory.
Is the bass clef just the treble clef moved down?
No, and assuming so is the most common early mistake. The same position on the stave means a different letter in each clef. Learning them as two separate systems is considerably faster than trying to convert between them in your head, which is slow and error-prone under pressure.
Which hand plays the bass clef?
Usually the left hand. The lower stave in piano music carries the lower notes, and those normally belong to the left hand. As with the treble clef there are exceptions, and some pieces put both hands into the bass clef for a passage.
Why does the bass clef feel harder?
Mostly because beginners spend far more time on melodies than accompaniments, so they see the treble clef several times more often. It is not intrinsically harder. Give it dedicated drilling time and it catches up quickly.
